Cursor

Cursor connects to the hosted Gavana endpoint over streamable HTTP with browser OAuth.

The config Gavana generates

Running gavana mcp config cursor produces exactly this normal connection:

{ "mcpServers": { "gavana": { "url": "https://app.gavana.ai/mcp" } } }

That is the whole config. There is no token field, no headers block, no transport key — Cursor infers streamable HTTP from the URL, and authentication happens in the browser.

Install

Open your Cursor MCP configuration

Cursor stores MCP servers in an mcp.json file. It is reachable from Cursor’s settings under MCP, which is the reliable way to find it across versions.

Paste the config

If you already have other MCP servers configured, add the gavana key inside your existing mcpServers object rather than replacing the file.

Save and let Cursor connect

Cursor picks up the change and initiates OAuth. A browser opens for sign-in and consent.

Review the scopes

The consent screen asks for all eight scopes.

If you have the Gavana CLI, gavana mcp config cursor prints the block so you can pipe or copy it rather than retyping. Note that gavana mcp install does not support Cursor — install only runs codex and claude. For Cursor the CLI prints config; you paste it.

Resulting permission surface

29 hosted tools. Three of them — run_canvas_workflow, generate_image_in_canvas, generate_video — can charge your connected provider.

An editor-embedded agent can create canvas nodes and start paid generations. Start with Inspect before you write, and require explicit current-turn approval before any paid call.

Local stdio instead

Cursor can also run the local 57-tool server. Replace the url entry with a command entry and supply an Agent Access token:

{ "mcpServers": { "gavana": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "@gavana.ai/mcp@0.2.0"], "env": { "GAVANA_BASE_URL": "https://app.gavana.ai", "GAVANA_AGENT_TOKEN": "cba_your-token-here" } } } }

Requires Node.js 20 or newer.

This puts a live credential in a config file. Keep mcp.json out of version control — a project-level MCP config is exactly the kind of file that gets committed by accident. Prefer the hosted endpoint in a shared repository.

Verify

Open Cursor’s MCP panel and confirm gavana is connected with 11, 29, or 57 tools depending on your choice. Then ask it to list your canvases.
